KILIM

Kilim es la denominación de una determinada variedad de tejidos persas famosos, pero también el nombre de la técnica utilizada para su fabricación. Los kilims persas son producidos principalmente por los nómadas que hacen alfombras, bolsas y cortinas para las tiendas. También se fabrican en otras regiones y por ello, además de la variedad persa se encuentran en el mercado Kilim turcos, afganos y moldavos.

Kilim is the name of a variety of famous Persian fabrics, but also the name of the technique used for manufacturing. The Persian carpets are mainly produced by nomads who make carpets, bags and curtains for shops. El dibujo suele ser geométrico, sólo limitado por la técnica de tejido, pero a veces tiene detalles y pelo anudados. Hoy en día hay una gran demanda de Kilims puesto que son el complemento perfecto para numerosos ambientes. Son ideales en muchos hogares gracias a su amplia gama de aplicaciones y una de sus principales ventajas es que algunas variedades son reversibles y pueden girarse si se estropean o ensucian.

The drawing is usually geometric, only limited by the weaving technique, but sometimes has details and knotted hair. Today there is a great demand for Kilims since they are the perfect complement to many environments. They are ideal in many homes thanks to its wide range of applications and one of its main advantages is that some varieties are reversible and can be rotated if damaged or dirty.

El principal fin de estas piezas es cubrir el suelo pero también pueden ser la pieza clave para decorar aportando al hogar una sensación oriental. Pueden utilizarse por ejemplo como colcha, como manta de picnic o colgarse en la pared. Estas alfombras artesanales presentan unos estampados puramente étnicos en colores llamativos y con prints geométricos que acaparan la atención de una estancia nada más verlos.

The main purpose of these pieces is to cover the ground but can also be the key piece to decorate bringing home an oriental feel. They can be used for example as a bedspread, as picnic blanket or wall hanging. PERSONAL LIBRARY

Nada mejor que una biblioteca en casa para tener un espacio donde poder estar solos con nuestros libros, relajados, lejos de toda distracción y sin ruido. Para crear una biblioteca se necesita una habitación individual, si se dispone de espacio suficiente, o un rincón lo bastante amplio en cualquier otra zona de la casa.

Nothing better than a home library to have a space to be alone with our books, relaxed, away from all distractions and noise. To create a library for a single room is needed, if you have enough space, or corner broad enough in any other area of the house.

La iluminación es un factor muy importante en este tipo de estancias. Lo óptimo es disponer de ventanales en la sala para tener iluminación natural y poder aprovechar la luz al máximo pero también son indispensables unas buenas lámparas que además de iluminar serán un elemento de decoración destacable.

Lighting is a very important factor this kind of stay. The optimum is to have windows in the room to have natural light and take advantage of maximum light but are also indispensable a great lamps that illuminate well be an element of remarkable decoration.

No es aconsejable una decoración cargada, basta con centrarnos en unos cuantos muebles que sean cómodos para la lectura como un buen sillón y una mesa en el que apoyar los libros, una alfombra que aporte calidez es decir, elementos atractivos y funcionales al mismo tiempo. En cuanto a los colores, los más apropiados son los neutros.

It is not advisable decor loaded, just focus on a few furniture that is comfortable for reading like a good armchair and table on which to rest the books, a rug that provides warmth that is attractive and functional elements simultaneously. As for the colors, the most suitable are neutral.

Vista en numerosas ocasiones en diferentes tejidos y colores, la silla BKF o también conocida como «Butterfly» fue diseñada a principio del S.XX por tres arquitectos: Antonio Bonet, Juan Kurchan y Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, que uniendo la primera letra de sus apellidos bautizaron esta silla convertida hoy en día en todo un icono.

View on numerous occasions in different fabrics and colors, the BKF chair or also known as «Butterfly» was designed in the early twentieth century by three architects: Antonio Bonet, Juan Kurchan Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy and that joining the first letter of their surnames baptized this chair today become an icon.

La silla fue presentada en el salón de Artistas Decoradores de Buenos Aires en el año 1940. Edgar Kaufmann Júnior, que en ese momento era el director del departamento de diseño industrial del MOMA en Nueva York e hijo del propietario de la famosa casa de la cascada de Wright, quedó impresionado y decidió comprar tres unidades. Una se quedó en el museo, otra en su casa y la última nadie sabe qué fue de ella.

The chair was presented in the lounge of Artists Decorators Buenos Aires in 1940. Edgar Kaufmann Junior, who at that time was the director of the department of industrial design at MOMA in New York and son of the owner of the famous home of the waterfall Wright, was impressed and decided to buy three units. One remained in the museum, another at home and the last one knows what became of her.

Hoy en día hay numerosas imitaciones ya que son muchas las marcas que la comercializan, haciendo posible así poner en nuestras casas un icono del S. XX.

Today there are numerous imitations because they are many brands that market, making it possible to put in our houses an icon of the twentieth century.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

En los últimos años se han desarrollado numerosos proyectos en donde se recrea y da vida a edificios industriales, viejos almacenes o graneros. Acabados rústicos como las paredes de ladrillo, elementos estructurales a la vista como vigas y columnas de acero o mobiliario con una estética claramente inspirada en lo industrial, es lo que nos encontramos en este tipo de viviendas.

In recent years there have been numerous projects where it is recreated and gives life to industrial buildings, old warehouses or barns. Rustic finishes such as brick walls, structural view as steel beams and columns or furniture with an aesthetic clearly inspired by the industrial elements, is what we found in this type of housing.

El estilo industrial es frecuente para la decoración de lofts y edificios antiguos convertidos actualmente en viviendas. También se puede emplear en apartamentos y casas tradicionales. Todo lo que se necesita es crear superficies brutas y ásperas, en ocasiones inacabadas, emplear materiales como el hormigón ya que aporta ese toque industrial e introducir elementos metálicos que consiguen recrear este tipo de ambiente.

The industrial style is frequent for decorating lofts and old buildings now converted into flats. It can also be used in apartments and traditional houses. All that is needed is to create raw and rough, sometimes unfinished surfaces, use materials such as concrete as it provides the industrial feel and introduce metallic elements that manage to recreate this environment.

Mobiliario multifuncional y en ocasiones reciclado e iluminación con bombillas tipo Edison colgantes son algunos de los detalles más destacables de este estilo, que al contrario que el resto dejan todo lo que generalmente está oculto completamente a la vista.

Multifunctional and sometimes recycled furniture and lighting with hanging Edison type bulbs are some of the most remarkable details of this style that unlike the rest leave everything that is usually completely hidden from view.
