Si se dispone del espacio suficiente para colocarlas, las islas de cocina se convierten en un elemento único y práctico dando a la vez un toque moderno a la vivienda.

Hay que hacer un estudio del espacio del que disponemos, la isla debe dejar suficiente espacio para poder circular alrededor de ella con amplitud. El estudio de la iluminación en un proyecto de interiorismo supone un mejor aprovechamiento de la luz natural y un uso adecuado de las fuentes de luz artificial. Un correcto equilibrio entre el tipo y la cantidad de luz que recibe un espacio consigue trasformar el modo en que éste se percibe, realzando o atenuando la decoración, pudiendo intensificar el valor de los elementos decorativos como muebles, textiles o elementos estructurales propios de la estancia.
