PATCHWORK

El patchwork es un vocablo inglés que significa trabajo de remiendo; una técnica que consiste en crear piezas tejidas utilizando restos de telas de varios colores y diseños, combinadas entre sí para que formen distintas figuras.

The patchwork is an English word meaning patch work; a technique that involves creating wreckage parts using woven fabrics of various colors and designs, combined together to form different figures.

Su origen data de épocas muy antiguas pero es muy difícil precisar una fecha exacta. Se han encontrado restos realizados con esta técnica en una alfombra acolchada en la región de Turania, que data del siglo I a. C.; una funda para silla de montar con aplicaciones de fieltro del siglo V o IV a. C. encontrada en el sur de Siberia y una tienda funeraria egipcia del siglo IX a. C.

Its origin dates from very ancient times but it is very difficult to specify an exact date. Remains made with this technique have been found on a padded carpet in the Turania region, dating from the 1st century B.C.; a saddle cover with felt applications from the 5th or 4th century B.C. found in southern Siberia and an Egyptian funerary shop of the ninth century B.C.

Esta técnica es fantástica para confeccionar alfombras, cojines, pufs o tapizar muebles ya que utilizando retales con colores y estampados variados, conseguimos que cada pieza sea única y con mucha personalidad, lo que permite crear espacios acogedores y llenos de energía si se integran en ambientes con un estilo que les acompañe.
