Bodegas históricas han encontrado en la arquitectura y en sus creadores una nueva concepción para proyectarse hacia el futuro. Continuando con la premisa de Richard Ford: “para el mejor vino, la mejor casa.”, surgen proyectos arquitectónicos como pueden ser la ciudad del vino de herederos Marqués de Riscal, las Bodegas López Heredia o la bodega Ysios, en donde no sólo se disfruta de turismo enológico o gastronomía sino de obras de arte que abarcan mucho más de la clásica labor de almacenaje y crianza del vino.
Historical wineries have found in architecture and its creators a new conception to project towards the future. Continuing with the premise of Richard Ford: «for the best wine, the best house.», Architectural projects arise, such as the wine city of Marqués de Riscal heirs, the López Heredia winery or the Ysios winery, where not only enjoy wine tourism or gastronomy but works of art that encompass much more than the classic work of storage and aging of wine.
La bodega de herederos Marqués de Riscal está ubicada en la Rioja alavesa y es obra del arquitecto Franck Gehry. Al igual que el Museo Guggenheim, el edificio está recubierto de titanio, aunque aquí el arquitecto integra magistralmente los colores representativos de Marqués de Riscal: rosa como el vino tinto, oro como la malla de las botellas de Riscal y plata como la cápsula de la botella, dando como resultado una obra en perfecta sintonía con el paisaje de la zona.
The Marqués de Riscal heirs winery is located in the Alava Rioja and is the work of the architect Franck Gehry. Like the Guggenheim Museum, the building is covered with titanium, although here the architect masterfully integrates the representative colors of Marqués de Riscal: rose like red wine, gold like the mesh of the Riscal bottles and silver like the capsule of the bottle, resulting in a work in perfect harmony with the landscape of the area.
En las Bodegas López Heredia llama la atención la estructura metálica con forma de decantador diseñada por la arquitecta iraquí Zaha Hadid, conocida y recordada por la plasticidad, innovación, atrevimiento y sutileza de sus obras, como demuestra en esta “escultura” que empezó siendo una restauración del stand modernista que la bodega exponía en ferias y demás eventos, para llegar a ser una estructura fija colocada en la bodega como tienda y espacio de exposiciones para conmemorar su 125 aniversario.
At the López Heredia Winery, attention is drawn to the metallic structure in the shape of a decanter designed by the Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, known and remembered for the plasticity, innovation, daring and subtlety of her works, as shown in this «sculpture» that began as a restoration of the modernist stand that the winery exhibited at fairs and other events, to become a fixed structure placed in the winery as a store and exhibition space to commemorate its 125th anniversary.
En la zona más bella de Rioja Alavesa nos encontramos con Ysios, una bodega moderna diseñada por el arquitecto Santiago Calatrava y concebida como catedral del vino, inaugurada en 2001; la cubierta es el elemento principal en la concepción del proyecto, simula las olas del mar sobre las cepas y el material empleado en su acabado exterior es el aluminio natural que, además de contrastar con la calidez de la madera de cedro, optimiza las posibilidades dinámicas del edificio.
In the most beautiful area of Rioja Alavesa we find Ysios, a modern winery designed by architect Santiago Calatrava and conceived as a wine cathedral, inaugurated in 2001; the roof is the main element in the conception of the project, simulates the waves of the sea on the strains and the material used in its exterior finish is natural aluminum which, in addition to contrasting with the warmth of cedar wood, optimizes the dynamic possibilities of the building.
